Girls` Hostel

Sundarban Mahavidyalaya Girls’ Hostel is in the adjacent premises of the College and can accommodate 55 girls. It starts its journey from July 2019 to backing the girl students who are coming from a less privileged family. Admission to the hostel is strictly based on distance from hometown, merit, and Persons with Disability. The Hostel administration is entrusted on the Superintendent and supported by a good number of maintenance staffs. Security is ensured by security guards and CCTV cameras installed in the entrance of hostel and the campus. A dedicated Hostel Committee comprising Convener and several members (both from teaching faculty & non-teaching staff) is there to guide and monitor the hostel affairs in a regular manner.

Rules & Regulations for Boarders

• In all matters of discipline and conduct, the Hostel is governed by the rules laid down by the UGC, MHRD, Higher Education Department, Govt. of West Bengal and the regulations sanctioned by the College authority.
• Boarders must comply with the rules, regulations and code of conduct of the institution.
• Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited in the College Hostels.
• At the time of admission to the Hostel, each student must be accompanied by her Parent/ Guardian/ local guardian failing which, admission to the hostel is liable to be cancelled.
• Only regular candidates registered with the institution are permitted to avail of the hostel facility. Drop-outs candidates are not permitted to stay in the Hostel.
• The Hostel usually remains closed during the College vacations. Extension of the hostel facilities to the boarders during vacation period will be provided solely at the discretion of the College authorities.
• After completion of the UG courses a student's boarder-ship automatically terminates. Withdrawal of boarder-ship before completion of course has to be intimated to the Superintendent who will release the boarder on receiving all necessary clearances.
  Before leaving the Hostel, boarders are to clear all dues, which are verified by the Fees section.
• Attendance compulsory for evening prayer.
• Boarders must observe the study hours prescribed by the authority.
• Strict discipline is to be maintained during the study hours.
• In case of any serious illness, accident or infectious disease, the boarder should report immediately to the superintendent(s) concerned
• Each boarder will be provided with the infrastructure available with the hostel and students should handle hostel equipment, furniture, mess properties carefully and not abuse or tamper with it. If so, applicable fine will be charged by the hostel authorities.

Visitor: Two categories of visitors are allowed to visit the boarders:

1. Parent /Guardian
2. Local Guardian introduced and approved by the Parent only.

A boarder wishing to go out for the day or the night must personally sign the Gate Book furnishing details of the contact number of her place of visit. The date and the expected time of her return must also be mentioned.

Any violation of rules may lead to cancellation of boardership.

Visiting Hours For Girls Hostel :

4.45 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. (during working days)

10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. (holidays)

Admission to hostel: The students seeking admission to hostel for a particular session are required to apply in the prescribed form to the principal. The seats allotted to the students are notified and the students are required to pay the fees and charges at the time of admission. For admission please fill up the following form.
