Best practice – I : 1. Title of practice:Clean and carbon neutral college campus 2. Objectives of the practice: a. To keep the college campus clean and plastic free. b. To participate in Swachch Bharat Mission of the Government of India. c. To focus on energy conservation. d. To facilitate rain water harvesting. e. To drive for plantation of more trees on the campus. 3. The Practice: a. Initiatives were taken to make the college campus a ‘Plastic Free’ zone. b. Use of LED tubes and LED bulbs, the modern fans consuming less electricity are installed in the campus. c. To channel the rainwater to some productive use it is diverted to the pond inside the campus. d. The college takes active part in planting trees in the college premises. Best practice– II : 1. Title of practice: Publicly recognizing the excellence of the students’ performance. 2. Objectives of the practice: a. To recognize the excellence of the students in public. b. To encourage the students to work hard in academics, culture and sports. c. To build a good human being. 3. The Practice: The college recognizes the excellence of the students in the field of academics, culture and sports through organizing annually an Award giving ceremony. Best practice– III: 1. Title of the Practice: Online 'Entry-in-Service' Portal 2. Objectives of the practice: a. The pre-existent talent of students are developed and management skills are nurtured. b. It exposes them to a wide variety of available choices through providing them with a vast knowledge bank including questionnaires on English language, general knowledge, logic and reasoning, basic mathematics and other learning skills. c. The wide-ranging repository enables them to identify how to approach various job opportunities beyond their immediate fields of study like banking, insurance sectors, railways, teaching, other public service examinations along with vocational courses so that they may identify their suitable talents and excel in the relevant fields. d. The portal includes evaluative questions in test examinations to be completed in a time-bound manner. e. The offline classes encourage students to work in team-based work and develop peer management skills. 3. The Practice: a. Students, irrespective of their career interests, can practice and appear in mock tests through the portal. This helps them to give more importance to conceptual rather than rote learning. This also helps them in improving their English language skills and simultaneously boosts their confidence. b. Scoring well helps the students to develop positive feelings about their abilities. It also acts as motivation for them to always strive for excellence. c. Online system enables them for extensive practice whenever they are free. d. Since it is mobile friendly, the preparation can be taken anywhere and anytime. e. The online portal and mobile-based application enables students to develop their knowledge content and become aware of the procedure and modalities of competitive examinations. f. The results are not only immediately generated but a result database is created where previous answers and scores of students are available to them so that they may continuously self-assess and evaluate themselves. g.
