ICT/Computing Computers and an innumerable diversity of tasks related to ICT-related activities have characterized every workspace for the last couple of decades. Especially, with the pandemic-induced forced lockdown, a comprehensive transition to online academics has necessitated the use of computers and associated technology as something that is realistically unavoidable. Our institution understands and appreciates the need for educating and training students as they need to remain aware of these new-fangled requirements. Our responsibility for doing so is rendered even more pressing as a substantial majority of our students are from financially deprived sections of the society and therefore cannot afford an expensive computer training and learning course. Therefore, our institution has arranged four basic computer application training initiatives and two training programmes dedicated to ICT-related activities within the span of five years (from 2016-17 to 2020-21). As the name of such programmes suggest, through such initiatives we have sought to make students aware of the possibilities and opportunities that are available to them, along with training them on how to properly utilize a plethora of digital teaching-learning tools that the college has recently resorted to. All these programmes have been widely appreciated. |
