Geography Department organize Poster competition, Quiz competition every year where students from all departments through out the college participates and get certificate according to the rank.
The department of Geography use modern equipment in teaching and organise class test, group discussion, debate competition as well as practice teaching among students to develop the learning process.

The department of Geography always boosts the self confidence of students.
Geography department is a very enrich section of Sundarban Mahavidyalaya. The department organize poster ,quiz competition every year. Our Student participate in various sports activities of college like annual sports, football tournament, cricket tournament etc. Students also organize teachers day, Basanta utsab , vijaya sammilani etc. Faculties and students are active member of college cultural committees. Geography department also maintaining the garden of college and beautification works in college. The department is famous for education tour to various parts of India like Ooty. Haridwar, Rajasthan. Mirrik, Vizag, Dooars etc. Our students also actively participate as a volunteers of Ganga Sagar fair. Huge number of students also participate in various social work through NSS, NCC and other committees of college.
The Department of Geography also offers to the students two certificate course :
One of the richest department of college according to the opinion of NAAC.
Many students of this department cracked various competitive examination and hold the responsable post in public and private sector both.
Many students take admission to M.Sc., M.A., M.Ed., in different universities in West Bengal.

The department of Geography continues collect the data regarding Ghoramara island of Sundarban which is submerged gradually and published many papers regarding the issue in reputed journals.
The department of Geography monitoring the plantation program in college campus as well as beautification of garden with various plants, fishes and lighting.
The department have a smart classroom with projector, white display board and Laptop with comfortable temperature facilities.
Computer lab with the facilities of QGIS and MS Office.
Display of various Rocks and Minerals according the syllabus.
The department have various survey instruments like Dumpy level and Prismatic Compass survey Theodolite Survey. Clinometer, Barometer, GPS, Hygrometer etc.
The department have a very enriched soil lab with the instruments like NPK kit, ph. meter, Refractometer, Organic matter kit.
The department also have many important maps like toposheet map , Topographical maps, Satellite Image, 3 D Images, Globe. Projection globe, Political map, Physical map etc.,
The department is enriched with sufficient light trees table.
The Department of Geography organizes educational tour in the various parts of India like Ooty, Hardwar, Shimla, Rajasthan, Mirik, Uttarakhand etc every year where students meet with common people and practices many practical works in face to face mode. In this way they develop their self esteem and increase their knowledge about physical and socio-economic geography.
