The outbreak of the worldwide pandemic COVID-19 created lot of mental traumas, and stress among the students. The shift of the teaching learning process from offline to online mode also put a tremendous amount of stress and strain both on student as well as teacher community. With the intent to address and help to resolve emotional and psychological issues of the student community, the college has initiated the “Psychological Counselling Cell” in the college premises. 

The Counselling Cell’s objective is to encourages the students to understand themselves and the issues that trouble them and guides them to resolve their problems. These problems can be personal, emotional, social, family, peer, academic, sexual, etc. This is done through individual or group counselling to help them with academic goals, social and personality development, career goals, enhancing listening skills, empathy, and interpersonal skills to have healthy relationships and a healthy lifestyle. The Counselling Cell will function respecting the student’s privacy so that they are free to explore their concerns, feelings, and behaviours. 

The role of this cell is to extend support through listening and responding in a confidential, non-judgmental, and timely way and helps them to understand their own potential and cope effectively with the problems they face.
